The World is over-worked and underpaid and more and more people are disgruntled with our work/life balance.

Not surprisingly, the Recruitment Industry is also in disarray; with promises of technology such as ATS software making life easier (but failing) along with a clear lack of fiduciary care to those it serves, we are bombarded by meaningless emails for roles that are simply not fit for purpose, under the pretext that it’s a systems thing.

Here’s such an example from one of the biggest players complete with spelling mistakes:


I am recruiting for a procurement specialist based in Didcot – The salary for this role is up to @ £42k with a good benefits package to match.

It’s no wonder that so many jobs stay unfilled for longer… now what of Big Data and AI – really!

Of course Reed aren’t along, in fact most if not all Recruitment Companies and Job Boards suffer from some level of poor or non-existent service… remind me what you do again?

Footnote: If they bothered to read my CV they’ll know that I’m significantly more senior than the role they blasted out.

So here’s a challenge for all Recruitment Companies and Job Boards – time for change guys!
