Share the Magic
Tourism in Iceland has grown considerably in economic significance over the past 15 years, and as of 2016, the tourism industry contributed about 10 percent of GDP (US$20 billion), and the number of foreign visitors exceeded 2,000,000 for the first time in 2017.
Today, GDP is more than US$26 billion, and tourism is responsible for a share of nearly 30 percent of the country's export revenue.
That's why it's important to develop Tourism even more in this wonderful country. The question is how, who will fund it, and what really needs to be done across the country to benefit all Icelanders.
