Code of Conduct

The Ideas-Shared Code of Conduct outlines the expected behaviour of all users to create a safe, respectful, and constructive environment. By using the Platform, you agree to uphold these principles.

These rules apply to every public or private space on Ideas‑Shared, including listings, comments, messages, groups, and file uploads.

1. Respectful Communication

  • Treat all users with respect and courtesy, regardless of their opinions, backgrounds, or perspectives.
  • Avoid abusive, harassing, discriminatory, or hateful language.

2. Integrity and Honesty

  • Be truthful and transparent in your interactions. Misrepresentation, impersonation, or deception is prohibited.
  • Respect intellectual property rights and only share content you own or have permission to use.

3. Collaboration and Constructive Engagement

  • Focus on constructive problem-solving and idea-sharing.
  • Disagreements should be handled respectfully, with the goal of fostering mutual understanding.

4. Privacy and Confidentiality

  • Do not share private or sensitive information about yourself or others without explicit consent.
  • Avoid sharing proprietary or confidential content unless you are comfortable with it being public.

5. Prohibited Activities

  • Spamming, phishing, or engaging in fraudulent behaviour is strictly prohibited.
  • Do not upload or share content that is illegal, obscene, defamatory, or otherwise harmful.
  • Refrain from introducing malicious software, such as viruses or malware, to the Platform.
  • Content that praises extremist organisations, depicts sexual exploitation, or encourages self‑harm is strictly prohibited.
  • If a listing alleges wrongdoing, you must provide verifiable sources. Unsubstantiated claims may be hidden until verified.

6. Fair Use and Resource Sharing

  • Use the Platform’s resources responsibly to ensure equitable access for all users.
  • Posting more than 20 public listings or sending >200 messages in 24 h is considered excessive and may trigger rate‑limiting.
  • Avoid excessive or disruptive activity that may negatively impact the Platform’s performance or other users’ experiences.

7. Accountability

  • Take responsibility for your actions and contributions on the Platform.
  • If your listing involves in‑person activity, you’re responsible for local compliance, permits, and safety.
  • Report any behaviour or content that violates this Code of Conduct to Ideas-Shared administrators.

8. Enforcement

  • Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in warnings, suspension, or permanent account termination at the discretion of Ideas-Shared.
  • Severe violations may be reported to relevant authorities or result in legal action.
  • We publish quarterly stats on content removals and appeals at ideas-shared.com/transparency.
  • Ideas‑Shared is an intermediary under UK/EU law. Upon valid notice we act expeditiously to remove unlawful content.

9. Amendments

  • Ideas-Shared reserves the right to update this Code of Conduct at any time. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of any changes.

10. Questions or Concerns

  • You will receive an email explaining any moderation action. You may appeal once within 14 days by replying to that email.

By using the Platform, you acknowledge and agree to abide by this Code of Conduct.
