Situation
I’ve lived in Crowthorne since moving here in 1968. I went to the CofE School and then Edgbarrow. I left to join the Military in 1978 and returned in 1991. Since then, I’ve spent my career in the corporate world.

Over that time, I’ve seen the village change, grow, and evolve, while still retaining a strong sense of community.

Crowthorne is a well-regarded place to live, with a lot going for it.

But like any community, there are always things that could be better.

– Small issues that go unresolved
– Ideas that are never acted on
– Opportunities that are missed
– People who care, but are not connected

Individually, these things seem minor.

Collectively, they shape daily life.

THE CORE OPPORTUNITY

There is no simple, shared place where people can:

– highlight local issues
– suggest practical improvements
– connect with others who want to help
– take coordinated action

As a result:

– good ideas remain ideas
– small problems persist
– progress happens slowly, if at all

WHAT THIS COULD BECOME

This is a live local initiative. If you’re connected to Crowthorne, you can help shape and improve it:

– identify what matters locally
– prioritise improvements
– work together on practical actions
– deliver visible, real-world outcomes

Examples might include:

– improving local amenities
– highlighting maintenance issues
– supporting local businesses
– organising small community initiatives
– making the village cleaner, safer, or more connected

If you live in or know Crowthorne:

Add one idea – What is one thing that could be improved locally?
Highlight one issue – What is something small that keeps getting overlooked?
Offer help – Could you contribute time, skills, or connections?
Share this locally – Send to neighbours, local groups, or community pages
