Our Founding: A Chance Encounter, A Shared Story & Vision
It started several years ago, with a dream and a challenge. Ivar Ingimarsson had a deep desire to create an ‘ideas’ website—but, like many, he had no idea where to begin.
The Frustration of an Untapped Idea

Ivar recalls:
“I wasn’t a web developer; I was a sports person, and I became very frustrated not knowing who to turn to or what to do. For months, I pondered how I could take my idea forward, and several times I nearly abandoned everything. I felt as if no one could help. Then, one day, everything changed when I least expected it.”
Standing outside the infant school his son attended, Ivar struck up a conversation with another parent—Bob Thompson. What started as a chance encounter quickly revealed a shared interest in ideas, business, and technology.
“Unknown to both of us, our boys were in the same class. Amazingly, Bob had an interest in web development, business, and helping people. That first 10-minute chat turned into an hour-long conversation—and everything fell into place.”
From a Simple Idea to a Shared Vision
That chance meeting laid the foundation for what would become Ideas-Shared. Together, Ivar and Bob began to dream bigger. They wanted to create a platform that not only allowed people to share ideas but also inspired action and collaboration to achieve meaningful outcomes.
“We spent hours upon hours discussing how to turn our idea into reality. But we didn’t stop at just creating a place to share ideas—we wanted people to act. We wanted to create a platform that helped people achieve the outcomes they desired.”
